Noise
Blogging during a break at work.
There's a kind of animal here that sits in the trees and makes a lot of noise. It's not the usual creek-creek that sounds so pleasurable at night. No, it's more like a small saw, and it seems ubiquitous in this city, whether you're near a park or not. I've heard it in Sinchon, next to Deoksugung, and in my own home, through a closed window at 6am this morning!
UPDATE: The Blogger Max Watson has just provided a nice picture of the noisy creature in question here.

LOL! You're talking about the cicada, a large bug, and you're hearing the male's mating call. They'll all be dead in September... You can see a photo on my website, or go search up on them.
Thanks, Max. I've linked to it. Those damned critters make an industrial level of noise! I remember them from last year's summer, when I arrived. I'm looking forward to the end of this infernal boiling season and noisiness! ;-P
